Janelle Awkward

About me

When my Grand Dad died 15 years ago, he left me a loft apartment in lower end New York. I moved to live in New York and began restoring the loft apartment.

In some old boxes, I found my Grand Dad's analog camera he had been using for ages. This was some kind of sign I recalled and the rest is history.

Enjoy the show.

If you are only going to one exhibition this year..

Then I urge you to visit the new Janelle Awkward exhibition in lower east side New York. Photographs with layers upon layers of visual information. Total brain meltdown once you start analyzing Janelle Awkward's images. The exhibition here in New York was absolutely stunning and I can 100% recommend it.

Found these on a very rare foray into Wally World today. Scary what companies put in our food. Scarier what companies put in our food targeted at kids. Scariest that people eat it (or let their kids eat it).

I so rarely go into Walmart, it’s such a culture shock when I do. I escaped with my wallet — and soul — intact.

Senator Soucek is at it again…

img-Commitment-2012-R-NC-District-45-Dan-Soucek

Well, N.C. State Senator Dan Soucek is trying once again to eliminate the Boone area ETJ (extra-territorial jurisdiction), which among other things protects residents in areas adjacent to Boone-proper from wholesale development. His bill, S. 865 (a.k.a. Town of Boone/Extraterritorial Jurisdiction) quietly passed the NC senate last week, and is now in the House Committee on Government.

Solitary confinement

Interesting article about the traits of being an introvert on HuffPo today. I find I straddle the line sometimes, though I am way more of an extrovert than anything else.

I would like to note for the record (and for my introverted friends & BFF who is always perplexed by my actions) that just because we extroverts WANT to be around people most of the time it doesn’t mean we aren’t confident enough to be alone.

It’s just way more fun to share.
